The Emergency Response Act of 2002 clearly shows how communities are to deal with potential threats in a community's water supply. Is Quartzsite in compliance?
The already established and required emergency protocol communities are to have in place in the event of an emergency [CLICK FOR THE PUBLIC HEALTH SECURITY AND BIOTERRORISM PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE ACT] that would have prevented the problems that resulted in Quartzsite's dilemma... Citizens, in fact, have the RIGHT to know [Click for the RIGHT TO KNOW ACT] if there is a problem that may effect the safety of their drinking water. The 'public' meeting of the town's incumbents has already created a flap: attendees have indicated that the acting Mayor stated that the town would have to learn to get along without vendors... and he now denies he made that statement.

What did Wesley Huntley say in the public meeting that didn't allow recording devices of any kind?
Is this why they disallowed cameras, tape recorders or video inside the building? Reports of tapes [of this meeting] are now beginning to surface. Who made them? How was permission obtained for them to be crated?

Quartzsite is already at the limit of spending [and debt] set by the State of Arizona. The council is requesting the state adjust their limit by almost $8.5 million. [$8,465,210.00] Quartzsite officials need to get this past the voters, however -- and Quartzsite's voters are educating themselves in droves.  These numbers also  directly effect the amount of monies that may be borrowed  -- possibly by bond, and usually at a high rate of interest -- to be repaid at a future date. Quartzsite's candidates for office are condemning the move.               DEBT LIMITS

The residents of Quartzsite are asking "Where's the Money?"
With Quartzsite financially floundering
more than a few questions have been raised concerning how and when the situation became critical.  Since Bennett's brief term as Mayor in 2008, an audit of the town's financial status has been effectively BLOCKED by the town's council, in spite of the current financial crisis. Now, new candidates vow to press on with the audit, in spite of the town's efforts to prevent them from running...       READ MORE

Vallejo, California has just filed for bankruptcy protection. Are Arizona's cash strapped communities soon to follow suit? La Paz County faces financial devastation under constraints imposed in suit.

Amidst what legislators
are reporting as ominous financial problems,  the Arizona State and Capital buildings are being considered as a way to raise fast cash. In the meantime, citizens are taking to the streets to demand accountability, driven -- at least in part -- by concern over health care reform, and at least one politician has had his life threatened over the issue...

The bailouts are being described as amounts TEN TIMES THE NATIONAL DEBT. 10% of the banks are on the verge of failure...

The fact is, there's more money changing hands than is comfortable for most people: huge losses are being sustained by even the most savvy and frugal investors, the downturns keep happening and the pivotal 'turnarounds' that would typically allow losers to recoup are becoming fewer with ever lengthening periods of time in between.

Is it the 'redistribution of wealth' that's been a source of such concern of late?

The boom is officially over and many companies are scrambling for survival...  What's next on the scene? Stay tuned for news and information designed to assist you in keeping your competitive edge: and call the Chamber of Commerce to find those 'by the numbers' discounts that will keep you in the running longer!

As for Obama, the honeymoon [for those that voted for him] is officially over.  He is rattling sabres against Iran,  demanding American students pass on having summers off and sign on for longer school hours.  He has glorified himself with school songs by children not heard since Hitler controlled Germany.

He has shown himself willing to hand Americans a health care package that he would never sign on for and is insisting things be included that most citizens don't want. And he's now a world leader instead of just President of the U.S.

So do we see a pattern emerging?
